“Skyphoria” the webcomic has retired.

this website now being re-used as a blog for tea’s party.

{Read more about it in the update section below.}

Skyphoria’s main muse was subconsciously the dynamic between me, myself, and I.

The core of the story and the characters reflected my internal healing system, and I was masking that muse behind a fictional story made by a middle school version of me.

So instead, we’re just going to skip to the real juice of my artistic expression now as an adult coping with layers and layers of childhood trauma.

Instead of hiding behind OC’s, we’re going to celebrate ourselves as a system of alters sharing the same body and brain.

This is the real Skyphoria.

!!! IMPORTANT UPDATE !!!

Skyphoria’s original purpose was to act like an educational comic about meteorology, while spreading awareness and education about Climate Change. This required careful attention to details that were accurate to real life, but slightly elevated creatively to reach a wide audience. The balance between accuracy and artistic freedom is itself an art form. One that I enjoyed doing so that my stories served a good purpose to the world while fulfilling my dream of being an artist.

The concept was obviously inspired by Hetalia, a fandom I thrived in and called home for 10+ years of my upbringing. The idea of mixing education with cute anime characters was so fun. So that’s how Skyphoria was born. The series went through several iterations until it became what it is today. And perhaps it may have to go through another one.

As I enter this new stage of life, through many identity crises and major mental health events, a lot of change happened and will continue to happen. If you know about Tea’s Party, then you know why. I figured out what was stopping me from continuing the project as it was. So I’m taking measures that will alter the foundations of this series to keep it going.

The story will not change, but the execution will be different. There will be minimal relyance on factual meteorology science, and more focus on telling a good story. If I were to suddenly obtain an abundance of resources to create the project as originally intended, then in that alternate universe that would be amazing to do. But the perfectionist in me would stress out about accuracy the whole time rather than enjoying the creative process.

I grew up with these characters in a way, and it would be crushing for me to not at least tell their stories. So that’s what I’m going to do.

Thank you to all the brilliant people who helped guide me through writing the scripts and integrating real science into it. Thank you to everyone who loved this series so far, and thank you to those willing to stick around. The support truly motivates me to do what I love doing.

Thank you for listening,
