“Tea’s party”?
“Tea’s Party” is the story of a guy living with a mental disorder known as
Dissociative Identity Disorder.
Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) is a complex form of PTSD caused by severe long term childhood trauma. DID is developed in children who cannot escape their abuse/neglect, have disorganized attachments to primary caregivers, and have the ability to dissociate to high levels.
Alternate Personalities (Alters) are created to protect the child from traumatic memories/experiences, in order to function normally in daily life.
Usually, people with DID do not discover their disorder until later in life, when the survivor is in a safe place to grow and cope with their trauma.
Each system of alters will be very different in structure, method, and themes; depending on the trauma they’ve experienced and how they coped with it as a kid.
These alters can be human, non-human, animals, objects, etc. because of the inherit imagination that underdeveloped brains have to lean on in order to survive their trauma.
