what is “Tea’s party”?
“Tea’s Party” is the collective name for our D.I.D system.
Dissociative Identity Disorder (D.I.D) [previously Multiple Personality Disorder] is a severe mental health condition where a person's identity fragments into distinct personality states, due to severe childhood trauma, causing amnesia and gaps in memory.
Alternate Personalities (Alters) are formed to compartmentalize traumatic memories and/or take on different roles in life in order to function in everyday living. Alters living in the same body are collectively called systems.
(Each system of alters (other people with D.I.D) may be unique in structure, themes, and have roles that cater to their specific type of trauma/coping mechanisms. Systems can share common aspects of D.I.D, such as titles given to alters, but not all systems share the same definitions, and there is no list of required alter roles or types. There are also other forms of systemhood, such as OSDD or P-DID, but we will just focus on our personal experiences with D.I.D specifically.)

“Tea’s Party” was originally the title of a comic series about discovering my D.I.D, based on an autobiography written on April 4th 2020.
